May Day

I’ve been procrastinating about properly starting this blog for over half a year now. The winter was hard, my health has been crap and I’ve been very depressed. I’ve lost confidence in my ability to write and the longer it goes on the harder it is to get going.

But with the warmer weather small shoots of hope began to show in my mind along with the buds in the garden and last month I made a pact with myself to write something, anything, every day in May to get myself back in the habit of writing.

I hope this blog will be a story of triumph over adversity, but I’m going to need help, lots of it. So it seems appropriate to start properly today with a play on words – May Day, m’aidez! S’il vous plait.

The sun is shining, a bird is singing sweetly in my garden and I have a vile stonking migraine. I should be resting, but I didn’t want to fail at the first hurdle with my writing goal.
